General Sitting Questions

  1. Do you accept all breeds?

    Yes and no. I can watch all breeds if you are booking me for in-home sitting. On the other hand, if you are booking your doggy for a sleep over, there are a couple of breeds of dog I will not be able to allow. These breeds include Pitbulls, German Shepherds, Chows, Dobermans, and Rottweilers.


    The Doggy Pad has the right to refuse animals who appear to be aggressive, ill, etc. or could cause harm to myself or others. We do not have to provide reasoning for refusing to work with you or your pet.

  2. Are your rates a set price?


    In-Home Sitting prices are based on the number of visits you scheduled, number and types of dogs cared for, the services provided, the distance traveled, and any other home tasks at are added on. The final price quote will be determined at the Meet & Greet meeting.

    Sleep Over prices are based on number and type/size of dogs cared for, and if there are any other special things the owner would like done such as, baths, nail clipping, and/or brushing.

  3. How and when will I be billed?

    I currently only accept cash. The full total balance can be paid before or at the time that you drop off your dog or I recieve keys to your home. I have the right to refuse service.

  4. What happens if I return home early? Do I get a refund?

    Unfortunately no. I carefully schedule my time to service you and my other clients. Therefore, there are no refunds back for early returns or last minute changes.

  5. How much notice do you need for a cancellation?

    Cancellations MUST be made two full days prior to the date of the first scheduled service. After that period, failure to provide any notice will result in  a cancellation fee equal to one visit.

    Holiday Cancellations - All pet sitting services and kennels recieve more requests for bookings than they can handle. During this time period we will have to turn clients down because we have reserved time for you this busy holiday season. If you cancel seven days or less prior to any holiday, you will be charged one-half of the visit.

  6. Do I have to fill out all the forms every time I book a stay?

    No. I will keep all your information on file. All you have to do is call/email and book an appointment. All your information will stay confidential.

  7. Can we contact you while we are away? Or will you contact us?

    I would be happy to email, call, or text you to let you know how your furry friend is doing, just let me know how often, or feel free to contact me as much as you like while you are away. After all, I'm here to serve you and give you pease of mind that your doggy friend is doing well while you are away from home. In addition, I will be writing a blog about your pets stay and adding pictures to both this website and The Doggy Pad Facebook page.

  8. Are you comfortable administering medication?

    Yes, I'm willing to administer medication includng pills, drops and/or injections as long as directions are provided. However, I will not administer medication to any animal that poses a danger to myself or anyone else in the general area.

  9. How much time do you plan on spending with my dog each day?

    Depends on if your booking me for in-home sitting or sleep over sitting at The Doggy Pad location.

    • If booking for In-Home Sitting, the price includes 2 visits per day where I will walk, feed, re-freshen water, and play with your dog/s. Typically this this will usually take between a hour to a hour and a half, each visit. Additional visits may be added for an extra fee.
    • If Sleeping Over at The Doggy Pad location, I will be able to give your dog hours of love and attention, because I will be home close to the whole day.
  10. Where will you take my dog on walks and how often?


    If booked for In-Home Sitting, I will be taking your dog on walks around your neighborhood, unless further instructed. The amount of walks depends on how many visits you request. Typically it will be 2 walks a day.

    If booking for Sleep Over, there are many parks and lovely walking paths in my area where I will be able to walk your dog. Also, I will be able to take your dog out for walks 2-3 times a day while staying at The Doggy Pad, unless more are requested.

  11. Do you have reliable transportation in the event of an emergency?

    Most definitely! I have an extremely reliable truck.

  12. What do you do in case of an emergency?

    It depends on the type of emergency.

    • If there is an emergency that has occured to your dog, I will first contact you and/or your listed emergency contact and let you know what is happening. Your vet will then be contacted and I will transport your dog if nessesary.
    • If there is an emergency with your home, I will contact you, your listed emergency contact and the proper authorities and/or a repair service of your choosing.
  13. What happens if my dog becomes sick or injured?

    I will have your emergency contact and veterinary information on file. Your dog will be taken to a vet and checked out, in addition to you being contacted.

  14. What happens if my pet gets out of the yard?

    We require all dogs to wear identification tags while under the care of The Doggy Pad. We also, require that all gates at your property have locks on them while you are away. At The Doggy Pad location we have locks on the gate doors in the back yard, we just ask that you let us know if your dog is a jumper.

    In the event that your dog gets out, we notify you and/or your emergancy contact. In addition, we will contact local animal shelter/s.

Sleeping Over at The Doggy Pad

  1. What do I need to bring with me when dropping off my dog?

    Here is a quick check list you can use:

    • Enough food for the stay
    • Treats (optional)
    • Toys
    • Leash and collar
    • Food Bowl (optional)
    • Bed, Blankets, and/or Crate (optional)
    • Medication (if on any)
    • Specific Forms found in the Documents page.
  2. Where will my dog sleep?

    During the day, your dog will be allowed to go into the back yard to play, while at night your furry friend will have free roam of the front half of my home. If you have a bed that your dog loves to sleep on please make sure to bring it. Also, if your dog is use to sleeping in a crate at night, you can always bring the crate too.

In-Home Sitting

  1. What areas do you service?

    I will travel to homes located in:

    • Placentia
    • Yorba Linda
    • Brea
    • Fullerton
    • Buena Park
    • Anaheim
    • Orange
    • Garden Grove
    • Santa Ana
    • Tustin
    • New Port Beach
    • Coasta Masa
    • Fountain Vally
    • Irvine

    A travel fee price will be determined on the distance that must be traveled from The Doggy Pad location to your home.

  2. Are you willing to do additional tasks at my home while I'm away (e.g., water plants, bring in the mail)?

    Yes, I can do extra added task while at your home for an additional $5-10/night depending on the multitude of the tasks and how often they need to be done.

  3. What if my property or pet is damaged while I am gone?

    The Doggy Pad promises to provide a reliable, caring and trustworthy service. However, I am only liable for claims arising from negligence or willful misconduct on my own part. Due to the extreme unpredictability of animals, I cannot accept responsibility for unusual mishaps (i.e., bites, furniture damage, spills, pet stains, etc.). Additionally, if your pets have access to the outside, we are NOT responsible for injury, disappearance, or fines.
